From Bunya Mountains Road turn into Bunya Avenue at “Dandabah” sign. We are located on RHS, ½ km down opposite Dandabah camping area. Look for sign “Bunya Mountains Accommodation” and the Australian flag at our entrance.

PAYMENTS ON CHECK-IN

Upon arrival at our office, please formally accept our terms and conditions. A preauthorization for 1 night’s accommodation (at the base rate) is required by Mastercard or Visa credit card. (Please Note Bunya Mountain Lodge requires $500).  This is held for 5 working days by our bank, then released back onto your card.   If you do not have a credit card, a $200 bond will be required in cash or as an eftpos transaction.  Once the cleaner has inspected your chalet, this bond will be mailed to you by cheque and/or your preauthorization details shredded. This bond is requirement for keys to be issued.

Check in from 2pm; check out 10am unless prior arrangements have been made and noted by the office staff. Occupancy starts on collection of chalet key & finishes when this key is returned to office.

Settlement of Account at the time of Check-in would be appreciated.

POWER OUTAGES, FLORA, FAUNA & WILDLIFE SAFETY:

Power Outages occur rarely but can happen due to our remote location.  ERGON usually remedy this within 1 – 2 hours. Meanwhile you will be left without water & lights.  All houses without a tap on their water tank should have a 10 litre water container for emergency water.  If this container is empty, please refill from the tap outside our office. If yours is missing, please collect another one from the office.  It will give you drinking water and the ability to flush toilets until power is restored. If there are no candles in your house, please collect some tea candles from the office.

Flora & Fauna During walks take particular care to check for and where possible avoid contact with:
• Falling Bunya Cones (usually Jan - March) - please DO NOT stand or park your cars under Bunya Pine trees during this itme.
• Stinging Nettles & Gympie stinging trees
• Ticks – Apply Rid or equivalent as repellent.

Wildlife Safety “Wallaby crossing” signs are numerous as you climb the mountain for good reason. Wildlife residents cross roads without warning. Please drive slowly & with care.

GAS BBQ BOTTLE PROCEDURE
We are unable to ensure Gas Bottles are full. If you find your gas bottle empty, please bring it to our office during office hours for exchange.

GATE KEYS
Keys are required for gate entry to homes within both Estates. For extra gate keys a $10 refundable deposit is required.

Public phone is opposite General Store. Mobile phone reception is patchy - best Reception is in sight of the mobile phone tower on top of Mt Mowbullan near Fischer’s Lookout

WHAT TO BRING?

• Linen - Sheets, towels, pillowcases, tea towels and bath mats. Or Hire Linen from our office.
• Food & Beverages - Including tea / coffee / milk.
• There are no petrol, ATM or alcohol outlets on the mountain- NB: 30kms to nearest service station.
• Adequate clothing & footwear.
• Torches (recommended due to lack of street lighting).
• Temperatures are 5 - 7ºC cooler than surrounding plains.
• Toiletries, Toilet Paper, Soaps, Detergents and Garbage bags.
• First Aid Items - Tea tree oil or Pyrethrins, Stingose.
• Details regarding treatment of ticks is available in your compendium.
• Firestarters & Matches.
• Other - Camera, CDs, DVDs. Board Games & Cards, Books, Binoculars.
